Ten Keys for Finding Happiness in Your Life
By Christopher Westra
Author: I Create Joy – The Art of Emotional Transformation
1. Live on purpose. Joyful aliveness connects you with your purpose. Learn the skills you need to create joy. Discover the activities and pursuits that make your heart sing! These engaging activities provide clues to your purpose.
If you want to maintain desperation and unhappiness, then believe that life has no purpose.
2. Create joy right now. No other time exists. Only the present moment contains the spark of life!
You may also create misery by constantly wanting to speed ahead to some other time. Most people live their lives wanting to exist elsewhere and elsewhen.
3. Accept total responsibility for your life! You create your reality and your emotions. Your power and focus exceed your wildest dreams.
You can choose to blame and whine, pretending that your life situation came from without, rather than from within. As within, so without. Accept total responsibility for all.
4. Act in boldness. Take on challenges and pursue lofty goals. Overcoming difficulties and obstacles provide some of the most exquisite joys in life.
To create misery, play it totally safe. Never do anything scary or risky. Follow your fears and let them guide your actions. For happiness and joy – feel the fear, and do it anyway!
5. Expect joy. Hope consists of a perfect expectation of desirable things to come. Picture desirable things to come. You choose what to think about, and visualize in your mind’s eye!
Despair consists of a perfect expectation of undesirable things to come. To increase despair, simply imagine in detail terrible things that may happen to you. The better your imagination, the deeper the despair. You get what you truly expect, so expect joy.
6. Increase your awareness. Feel your emotions consciously. Identify your core beliefs. Constantly learn and grow from the inside. Your unhealthy attitudes, habits, and behaviors will start to drop away like fall leaves.
To maintain apathy and misery, just remain unaware. Allow clarity to flee from you like a deer from a hunter. Remain in unconsciousness and cloudiness – afraid to explore your beliefs.
7. Build your connections. Our relationships give life meaning and joy. All of us truly connect to one another in the inner world. Building connections in the physical world builds on this inner reality and supports increased life for all!
To create misery, simply separate yourself from others. Think that you exist as an independent entity, and other people merely drag you down. Insisting on separateness in defiance of the truth of connectedness is an active pursuit of unreality.
8. Learn and read daily. We grow in large measure due to the people we meet and the books we read. Did you read 52 books last year? We create joy when we grow and increase our wisdom.
To prevent joy, try not to meet any new people this year, and don’t read any new books either. Simply stay just the same person with the exact same ideas. For optimal joy, go for optimal growth and learning!
9. Serve other people. Truly recognize other people as real people, with needs and wants just like your own. Think how you can bring a smile to someone, and then do it! Give increased life in every encounter. You will increase your joy.
To create misery, ignore other people and totally concern yourself with your own needs. Don’t think of other people as real.
10. Prioritize your actions. Know your goals and purposes, and put power and faith into every action. Do each action with focus and purpose, and know why you choose the activities you expend your energy on.
If you want to decrease joy, simply do as many things as you can each day. Never think of which items connect with your goals, simply busy yourself with work.

THE POWER OF LOVE
The power that can move mountains.
The love that I am going to talk about is not love in its ordinary sense. It is hard to
describe what the true meaning of love is, because no words can come close to its real meaning.
I think the best description may be that love is oneness; togetherness with the universe
and everything in it.
When you are loving, you see everything as a part of you, and therefore you are loving everything as you love yourself. This togetherness with everything,
this oneness with everything is the true meaning of love.
When you are loving, you see no separation; you and everyone else are the same. It is separation that creates all the miseries; when we feel separate, we instantly
disconnect with the infinite power, and we don’t feel loved. Without separation, “You”, “I” and “They” have no meaning; everything and everyone become ONE.
If there isn’t a “You”, and if there isn’t a “They”, then who am I going to hate, who am I going to feel angry at? Nobody!
Therefore, all hatred and anger will disappear, and what left is only LOVE.
You will have no more opponents and enemies, as they will all be dissolved into the ONE. You and your enemies are one. When you look into their eyes, what you see is
only a reflection of yourself; the loving and perfect being. You will see them as yourself, and you will forget how to hate. You will love your enemies as you love yourself.
When you truly understand the meaning of love, you know that you will love everyone equally, regardless of their race, their colour, their religion or their beliefs. You will love them as you love yourself regardless of whether they are your
family, spouse, friends, opponents or enemies; because you know that you and everyone else are perfect beings.
In fact, if you can really see the oneness in everything, you won’t even notice any differences in colour, culture, or belief etc.; you will only notice that you and they are
the same. They only appear to be different, but in essence they are all the same as you.
Steam, water and ice are exactly the same thing; they only appear to be different. The essence of everything and everyone is the essence of love.
Therefore, in order to see the true essence in everything, you must see it from the point of view of love.
You must become a loving person yourself, and then you will see a loving energy emanating from all things around you. If you are wearing green glasses, the world you see is green no matter what. If you see the world from glasses of love, everything
you see is love. You see love in yourself; you see love in others.
To love is to totally accept the other being as they are. When you love yourself, you should accept every aspect of yourself; when you love others, you should completely
accept them as they are. Never try to change them; only accept them.
If you and everyone else are perfect, whole, and infinite, why should you change anything? When you are trying to change anyone, it is only because you see imperfection in them, and that is not true love. When you truly love someone, you
see only perfection.
The question that comes up in your mind may be that, if we don’t want to change ourselves or anyone else, then where do the improvements come from? I say
that if you are truly loving, you would already have reached the highest state of freedom, and you don’t need to improve. You are already perfect. What can you do to improve on perfection?
You want to improve only when you see imperfection, and then you are not truly loving. When you are in the state of perfect love, you are experiencing the ultimate happiness. You feel everything is alright, nothing and no one can bother you anymore,
you see only perfection. Everything will happen naturally and with ease.
Love is also an attitude of giving; it is giving without strings attached.
When you give something to someone with an expectation of gaining praise for yourself, or to get something from him/her in return, then you are not present in an attitude of giving.
Giving with this kind of attitude is no better than not giving. The important thing is
the attitude, not the actual dollars or things.
You often see people donating millions of dollars to charity, but with an attitude to gain publicity, and fame. That is not true giving. The million dollars will not help much. If you hold an attitude of giving, without any selfishness attached, you are helping. The universe does not know the difference between a dollar and a million dollars, it only hears your feelings or your attitude. It will orchestrate all circumstances according to your feelings.
Love can also solve every one of your problems. Every problem is caused by non-loving emotions, which keep you away from the light of truth. Therefore, when you are loving, you won’t have any problems, because they will be resolved naturally.
Start practicing love in your life-the more you are able to love, the freer you are,
and the happier you are.

The Universal Law of Attraction
By karen | January 11, 2007
It’s a common phenomenon. Almost everyone can relate. You start looking for a new car, something special, something not like anyone else’s, something unusual. You pick out what seems to be a unique, unusual choice of a special red car and all of a sudden, there it is– your red car, the one you thought was only yours. It’s on every street corner. It is at every stoplight. You see three of these red cars just driving down the freeway. You never saw these cars before. What happened? How did all of these people get your unique red car at the same time?
Well the fact of the matter is that your brain is seeing the red cars that were always there. Since you picked out this car for yourself, that car has become special for you and now you are noticing what was really there all along.
It’s called the “Reticular Activation System” or RAS. It is the part of your brain that automatically filters out what is not important to you and brings your attention to things that are important to you. We all have it. Many a Mom will tell you that they can pick out their own child’s voice within the chorus of many children’s voices. A Mom will be sleeping soundly through noise from many directions and her baby makes a small whimper and she’s wide-awake. Our brains automatically filter what is important and what is not important to us.
Basically the Reticular Activation System is how the Law of Attraction works. We get what we focus on; we create what we think about and the RAS system of our brains just helps this process along.
There are so many misconceptions regarding the Law of Attraction. It seems odd that if this is a Universal Law why people tend to argue with it. Nobody argues with gravity. Of course, gravity is not nearly so misunderstood.
The Law of Attraction is not a new concept. It has been with us since ancient times, which only makes sense if it is a Universal Law. It is mentioned in the Bible
“For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”
Proverbs 23:7
Buddha taught about the Law of Attraction
“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become”
Buddha 562-483 B.C.
In the early part of the 20th century many books were written about the Law of Attraction, such as “As a Man thinketh” by James Allen, “The Master Key” by Charles Haanel and one of the most popular books of all time “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.
Yet there are those who still argue and express their disbelief. A common argument is that proponents of the Law of Attraction claim that all they have to do is think their lofty thoughts and all of their dreams come true. This could not be further from the truth. The thoughts create the opportunities and the ideas AND the motivation and inspiration to take the ACTION to make it come true.
The Joy in creating comes from developing and dreaming in your own mind but a large part of the FUN of creating comes from the Action taken. Not many achievers are content to sit on the beach and dream of success. There is no fun and there is no challenge in that. It’s a joy to dream the dream, to be attracted to the way and to take the action to make your dreams come true. Sitting on the beach daydreaming may be fun for an hour or two but how boring to live a life like that. Taking action to create your dreams is where the fun and joy in creating comes, not just from the dreams in your own mind.
So Dream the Dream and your RAS will take over and you will be inspired and guided on the right action to take. Take the Action and the Law of Attraction will bring your dream to you.
